Transition from teaching with confidence.

Hi, I'm Daphne!

I'm a former teacher, full-time Instructional Designer, CEO of Teacher Career Coach, and your new personal cheerleader!

There's a reason you've found me.

Whether it was another teacher's recommendation, searching "other jobs for teachers," or pure chance that brought you, I'm happy you've found support. I was in your shoes before. Back when I was contemplating my own transition out of the classroom, there were virtually no resources to support teachers who were thinking of leaving. Eventually, I landed a dream job in educational consulting, and I've never looked back. After a few years outside of the classroom, I even started my own business!

I know the challenges you are facing right now, and I'm here to help.

My mission is to build the community and support that I wish I had years ago and to support you in finding happiness.

Free Resources For Teachers Weighing Their Options

Free Career Quiz

One of the biggest struggles face is identifying what career options there are for former teachers. Yes, there ARE career options that are easier "pivots" for teachers that don't require them to go back to school! I've sorted these into what I call the "career buckets" that hire teachers. Take my free career quiz to learn what career bucket would be the best fit for you!

Should You Leave Teaching?

I want whatever is best for you, but you’ll be the only one who can (or should) make this decision. The thing is, I don’t want anyone who LOVES teaching to leave if they haven’t explored and considered making other changes before changing careers. This is a very personal decision that only you can decide. I hope can help bring you some comfort and clarity in knowing you are making the best choice for you in this uneasy time, so you can confidently move forward with whatever plan you decide.

The Teacher Career Coach Podcast

I created a podcast to share my career advice and interview other former teachers. Because there's not a one-size-fits-all answer to this, I include episodes for those who inevitably stay in the classroom as well by inviting in the leading experts on teacher burnout, mental health, and sustainable teaching practices. I want you to find happiness whether you are inside or outside of the classroom.

FAQ about the Teacher Career Coach Course

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about the Teacher Career Coach Course. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out at support@teachercareercoach.com.

I’ve spent so much time establishing myself as a teacher. Will I have to start all over again?

Good news! The fact that you have any degree is a positive when applying for positions. Most HR professionals are looking more for experience and less for specific degrees, so you don’t usually need to worry about your degree not being in a specific industry (unless you are trying to go into the health field).

It’s more important that you’re able to showcase how the skills you’ve acquired translate into the skills that make you the most qualified candidate for the position.

That’s where Module 4 of The Teacher Career Coach Course comes in - I’ve built From Classroom To Corporate resume writing translations to help you quickly identify what experience you have in training, content creation, data analysis, marketing, budgeting, project management, managerial, and more...all using your teaching experience!

Am I really qualified for anything besides teaching?

This is one of the most common questions I get asked, and so I’ve established a framework to help walk teachers through determining what jobs are the best fit for them. If you’re a teacher with less than five years’ experience you’ll be qualified for different positions than a teacher with 15 years’ experience.

Everyone has different qualifications they’ve established even within their job duties as a teacher but you have to also account for experience from other positions or volunteer work that you’ve established in your professional life.

That’s why in Module 2 I walk the Teacher Career Coach members through steps to reading job listings and helping them determine which positions would be the best fit with their qualifications.

Some graduated Teacher Career Coach members have transitioned into Curriculum Writers, Instructional Designers, and Office Manager positions (just to name a few!)

What makes Teacher Career Coach different than other programs?

The Teacher Career Coach Course was built by a former teacher who left the classroom for positions in educational technology.

While other courses may help you create your resume or learn to network, this one is made specifically for you - a teacher. The resources are built specifically with you in mind - saving you time when it comes to your next steps.

I consulted with a certified career coach with 10+ years in HR and resume writing experience to develop many of the resources in the course. I paid the high one-on-one fees and put all of the answers in one digital library so that you don’t have to.

Will I really have time to juggle this course while I'm full time in the classroom?

What you need to ask yourself is this...

Do you have time to find all of the answers on your own?

You’re a super busy teacher with a million things on your to-do list. I built my resources with you in mind - so that you DON’T have to scramble to learn it all on your own and guess if you’re doing it right.

What is actually included in my Teacher Career Coach membership?

When I left teaching there were little to no resources out there for me, so I wanted to change that for the next generation of teachers leaving the classroom.

You’ll have access to my video modules where I walk you through identifying your new career path, describing yourself as a professional and mindset shifts, networking, resume writing, salary negotiation, interviews, and more.

The course currently includes over 100 pages of printable templates, like a list of translated vocabulary from classroom to corporate to make your resume writing process easier.

The resume writer I work with has created sample transition resumes for new teachers and experienced teachers looking to transition. I even answer some of the tricky questions like how to talk in interviews about your decision to leave the classroom, a toxic administration, or shifts in politics.

We also have a private community built only for our course members - so you can chat with one another for encouragement and support.

Do you offer one-on-one consultations?

We do not offer one-on-one consultations at this time. The Teacher Career Coach Course is our most comprehensive, step-by-step resource and members additionally have access to our private, online community where you can ask questions and connect with others and ask questions about your your journey.

I know this is already a big decision for you, so I want to make it as easy as possible.

Some teachers have successfully used these resources to rewrite their resume and interview for positions at neighboring school districts while learning about other career paths as a back-up plan!
